We drove to Portland from Seattle- so we DO love Andre and love Portland!! BUT... the drive to the venue, even though we left the hotel across the river about an hour and a half before the start of the concert (we really tried to be in our seats at 7:30 PM, Andre!). We didn't plan for how HARD it was to get into and FIND and GET INTO our parking lot. We tried 4 different ways (that we saw) and drove around a block (included 4 or 5 different blocks to get back to another lane and then try to get into the lot (that we see but couldn't get into the lot until we went around the "block" AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN....
Phew! By the time we got into the lot and parked...on the top level in the far from the elevator spot...and "walked" (with my degenerative disk and stood in line for 30 minutes waiting for everyone to process thru the covid/security line) into the correct door after finding the elevator (thru another door) and walked about a block to get to our floor only to find the concert began and we couldn't go to our seats until the song had ended. The floor is another story!#*! We didn't know WHERE our seats were-they could have been WAY across the entire floor or right where we came in. Turns out they were one section away and I found this because I went to where I thought our seats were (based on the section/seat numbers were written with chalk that was quickly wearing off) only to find our seats taken by someone else. I whispered "are you sure you are sitting in the right seats" and she answered "yes" even tho I was looking at two seats quite vacant right next to her. I knew these were our seats because we got tickets on the aisle and she was seated on the aisle! (Turns out a VERY LARGE man was taking up two seats and this we finally found out at 8:15 when the lone un-busy floor attendant finally figured all this out for us.). By the time we sat down, removed our coats, put my purse down...it was time for the snow and balloons (which, by the way, the two children with the mom beside us, who finally moved, proceeded to crawl over our feet many times to get at snow/balloons. BY THE WAY mom never apologized for taking our seats thru a lot of the concert. Andre's show was great and fun, just as we expected. I apologize to all the audience members and concert players and Andre who we might have interrupted!
